Making visual art is both work and play. It is not about time or money, but about communion: with seen or imagined objects or creatures; with color, texture and shape. One makes, one works with, one befriends. One uncovers the limits of one's expressive strength, and discovers the limits of one's media.
But there is always the idea that next time will come the visitation and the flowering, and the desire to get into technical trim, to be ready.
